For practice managers
Running it after the partners have bought it.
You will run this once the partners have bought it. The questions are about the working day, who administers what, the order of a move and what happens when somebody rings on a Friday afternoon.
- The morning list arrives by fee earner, with the action already drafted and waiting for approval.
- Your firm names two administrators, because a firm with one has no route on a Friday afternoon.
- Support is unlimited for the first three months after go live, then included on fair use.
- The order of a move is agreed with you, department by department, rather than imposed.

Illustrative. Three screens from the working software, on invented files. The platform, screen by screen.
The questions before go live
What the working day looks like
Five scenes are worked through: the file no one senior has read for months, the chargeable work that never reached a time entry, the fixed fee drifting past its scope, and the morning list in place of the morning triage.
Answered in full: In practice.
What the firm has to do
You give co-operation, access and whatever consent the current supplier requires, stay responsible for your own data, and name at least two administrators, a COLP, a COFA and a breach contact reachable at any hour.
The administrators, and what the agreement omits
The administrators register and revoke devices, end sessions, remove leavers and set information barriers, and Bracton provides the means rather than doing it for you. The page also names what the agreement does not yet say, such as data cleansing and staff release for training.
Answered in full: Implementation and migration.
What the assistant reaches today
What each system publishes about its interface, what that means for the sweep, the drafting and the accounts work, and what is promised before you sign, are set out system by system. Where a vendor publishes no reachable developer reference, the document store route applies.
Answered in full: Integrations.
Support while people learn it
Unlimited for the first three months after go live, then included on fair use rather than metered, covering help using the system, fault correction, user administration and refresher training. Support hours and response times are not yet stated.
The most serious category
Anything touching client money, a deadline or the security of your data is the most serious category.
Answered in full: Implementation and migration.
The screens beyond the morning list
Four more screens are shown with their captions: the file, the diary with the rule behind each date, the people screen with the permission model, and the financial panel with the rate agreed and the rate it replaced. The people and figures are invented.
Answered in full: Four more screens.
Trying it before anything changes
The demonstration opens the working software in a browser without a form or an installation, on invented files, and sends nothing anywhere. The two minute assessment settles which of the two products fits, and a free hour runs the software across a sample of your own live matters, with the written client account review there if you want the findings on paper.
Answered in full: See it run.
What it costs, the term and the calculator are on the prices page, and what exists today is listed in four states on the product status page.
